Are you an adrenaline junky, or looking to shake things up this holiday? Canada is the perfect destination to be active and get your pulse racing. Whether you have a head for heights, like getting up close and personal with wildlife or prefer to be on (or in) the water, Canada is perfect for those living life on the edge. Check out our Top Exciting Adventures in Canada.
At 356m, the CN Tower is the tallest building in Toronto. Test your fear of heights and walk around the circumference of the tower! Enjoy the best views over the city, and wave to spectators below. Perhaps not best for those scared of heights...
It’s a drizzly and grey day, but you feel the need to get your pulse racing… how about indoor skydiving? At the iFly in Toronto, you can experience jumping out of a plane without having to actually do it! This indoor wind tunnel is the perfect way to satisfy those adrenaline needs without fearing for your life. Great!
Tip: If you want the real thing, Canada is also a great place to jump out of a real plane.
If you want to get as close as possible to a powerful and mighty Waterfall, try it from another perspective - soar across the sky with amazing world wonder views in Niagara Falls! Dozens of ziplines whizzing everywhere. A gravity-powered jump that makes your palms sweat.
If you enjoy wildlife and want to see a Polar Bear, Churchill in Manitoba is probably the best place in the world to go. The best time to go is October or November, as the polar bears move from their summer habitat. Polar bears are endangered, and regulation on tours is strict, and although they look cute and cuddly, don’t forget that they are also dangerous!
Canada is an awesome place for skiing and snowboarding. There are plenty of places to choose from that cater for all kinds of snow-related activities. One of the best places to go is Whistler in British Colombia, which was the main venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Kayaking is always fun, but what could be better than watching whales and seals swim in the water beside you at the same time? You can do day trips, or even go on tours for a few days; camp in the evenings and sing songs around the campfire under the stars. How lovely!
Love rafting? Think you’ve experience all it has to offer? Think again. The Bay of Fundy has the world’s highest recorded tides, meaning it’s a super exciting place to go rafting. Prepare for a wet and wild trip as you meet the tide head on. Hold on tight, you’re in for a bumpy ride!
Whether you are a beginner or advanced, want to start on an indoor wall or outside, Canada is a great place to go climbing. You can go climbing outdoors at Whistler in British Colombia, or do an indoor climbing course in Vancouver. Whatever tickles your fancy!
For those looking for a real adrenaline rush, head to Golden in British Colombia where you will find some of Canada's biggest mountains. With tandem paragliding, a fully qualified pilot will guide you so you can make the most of the view. With altitudes of upto 12,000 feet, you can enjoy looking at glaciers and valleys from above and really feel like you are flying.
