Go outside and do something!

You probably know the saying that says that in a healthy body also lives a healthy mind. The well-deserved holidays are not only ideal for rest and relaxation, but also to do something good for your own health and to exercise. Hop on a bike, hike up a mountain and experience nature firsthand.
The destinations Los Angeles, Bangkok, Lagos, Bali and Kuala Lumpur offer countless opportunities for sports enthusiasts.

Los Angeles

Cycle to less known beaches
Venice Beach and Santa Monica are two of Los Angeles' most famous beach resorts - and definitely worth a visit. However, if you want to explore the area off the beaten track, head south to visit some of the less visited beaches: Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo. Very attractive for vacationers due to the beautiful landscape is cycling along the Marvin Braude Trail, which runs under the numerous palm trees, right on the edge of the beach. Do not forget to rent a bike lock to your bike, so you can stop at any time on the way and take a closer look in each city. Watch the multitude of surfers and volleyball players on the way - maybe you can even join the game and prove your skills.

Hiking on Mount Baldy
Mount Baldy, also known as Mount San Antonio, is the highest peak in Los Angeles County, at 3,068 feet. Its name comes from the lack of trees and its therefore very bare terrain - which in turn is an advantage for hikers, as this allows a wide panoramic view. On a clear day, this view extends to Catalina Island. The hiking trails that are in the winter months part of a skiing area invite in the summer to hike. For experienced climbers the hike up to the summit is about 17 kilometers round trip and you need 5.5 to 7 hours. If you have less time or endurance, you can also take the ski lift up to 2,400 meters and start a hike from there. Whatever you choose, reward your efforts with a visit to Notch Restaurant on the mountain.

Address: Mt Baldy, California 91759, USA

Enjoy the wind on Route 1 to El Matador Beach
For a good reason, Route 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway, is America's busiest coastal road. A trip on Route 1 is an absolute must, if you visit California, let yourself on this special experience, because the course of the highway leaves nothing to be desired. Drive north towards Malibu and then about 10 kilometers to Paradise Cove and on to El Matador Beach. The rugged rock formations and tidal pools are impressive, and if you are out of the main tourist season you may even be the only visitor there.

Once in a lifetime swinging like Tarzan and Jane through the jungle and be enchanted by nature is a dream of many vacationers. With a Zip Line you can realize this dream in Bangkok or Pattaya. In incomparable surroundings you can fly through the trees in the tropical forest with the zip-line and with a bit of luck you can admire the native Gibbon monkeys. Hiking tour
Another way to explore Bangkok in a conscious way is through a hike. There are several walking routes of various lengths that pass through the city. For the first exploration tour, choose a simpler route, for example in combination with a boat trip on the Chao Phraya River. After the tour by boat, which you can take for example from a park such as the Santichaiprakarn, visit the temples of Wat Arun, the famous Reclining Buddha in Wat Pho and the Emerald Buddha in the Royal Palace.

Bali

Surfers paradise
Bali, the Indian Ocean island, is one of the most iconic surf destinations in the world. If you are looking for a suitable season to enjoy Bali's waves almost undisturbed then this is from October to April. Bali guarantees you perfect waves, offshore winds, warm sea water and sunshine all year round.
The best surf spots in Bali are mostly found on the southern shores of the island and around the Bukit Peninsula. However, these beaches are only suitable for advanced surfers, as there are mainly imposing waves breaking into the reef compared to the popular and leisurely beaches of Kuta and Legian. On Padang Padang beach regularly large surfing championships are held.

Wildwater Rafting
An exciting white water rafting tour against a backdrop of wild, virgin jungle, towering gorges and scenic rice terraces is sure to be an unforgettable vacation experience. These tours usually take three to four hours with the option to freshen up and have lunch. Go to Alex in the "Wanderland" for more information on the offered white water rafting in Bali.

Snorkeling and diving
Although you should not just expect white sandy beaches and turquoise waters on the island in the Indonesian Ocean, Bali still has a rich selection of beaches. From large rocks created by coral or lava to beaches with white or black sand. Due to the sometimes enormous waves, some of the beaches along the south coast are not suitable for swimming, but on the north side there are good places for snorkeling. For diving you should visit Nusa Lembongan, Amed and Pemuteran.

Kuala Lumpur

KLCC Park
Kuala Lumpur most popular park is the KLCC Park, which has been designed by a Brazilian architect. It is a large park where you can find a children’s playground but also a running track and eye-catching fountains that spray forth throughout the day and turn into a light show every evening. You would also have vantage points for the best photo angles of the twin towers.

Genting Highlands Park
Genting Highlands Park is one of the best hill stations in Kuala Lumpur, and one of the most popular features is the Genting Theme Park. This place embraced a glitzy atmosphere to attract the crowds. Attractions with the longest lines include the adrenaline-pumping Space Shot, Corkscrew, Sungai Rejang Flume Ride and Flying Coaster. What’s more, the outdoor park has the required assortment of carnival-like games where visitors can win plush toys and more.

The Canopy Walkway
The Canopy Walkway is a 200-metre long bridge suspended 30 meters above the ground, not made for those with a severe case of vertigo. You might be afraid of falling into the unknown depths below, but gathering the courage to look down and around you while walking along it is well worth the effort. This beautiful walk will give you a breathtaking view of the forest and its surroundings. If you look hard enough, you might just see the Petronas Twin Towers in the distance!
